Wrangler/Stagecoach and Wagon Driver positions are filled by experienced horse men and women
willing to work hard and care for our guests and our horses!
Wranglers lead park visitors on one and two-hour guided horseback rides on established trails
through Yellowstone’s backcountry. Providing these guests with engaging commentary on the
areas they are passing through, its history, and the wildlife that live there is an important part
of the job.
Insuring guests’ rides are safe is equally important. With many riders having
little or no riding experience, wranglers must have extensive backgrounds in handling
horses in a variety of situations, knowledge of tack, and the ability to communicate safety
issues professionally and effectively with guests… all while making it an exciting experience
that leaves guests with great memories of their time spent in Yellowstone.
Wagon and Stagecoach Drivers require the same set of skills, along with team-handling skills. They load guests onto our Tally-Ho Stagecoaches
and our Old West Wagons for rides along trail roads and out to our Western Cook-Outs. Drivers entertain
riders with tales of Yellowstone history and information about the area and its features.
All Wrangler/Stagecoach and Wagon Drivers must be 19 years old or older. Applicants must be physically
fit and commited to working hard! Wrangler/Stagecoach and Wagon Drivers must be able to unload
semi-truck loads of hay made up of 80-pound bales, with as few as one other
person assisting. Work days are typically 12-hours long, with four day work weeks. However, hours
will vary based on weather and business levels. Wrangler/Drivers get dusty and dirty, work hard,
and develop lifelong friendships with fellow wranglers during a summer of helping our guests have an experience like
no other!
Wranglers and Drivers wear uniform shirts and jackets provided by the company. Employees must
bring their own blue/denim jeans, belt, close-toed leather boots or work shoes and a good quality
felt cowboy hat.
