Welcome To the Lodging Department!
The Front Office at each hotel and lodge in Yellowstone National Park is a
hub of visitor activity. Aptly called Guest Service Agents, the staff that work here spend their
days helping Park visitors experience Yellowstone.
It starts with the basics of a good night's rest. Guest Service Agents register guests for their
accommodations or make reservations for them at one of the other Park properties. It continues as
they explain the services and activities at their own location and throughout the Park. It means
answering a lot of questions and providing a lot of information!
The skills required are varied: Guest Service Agents must be able to learn and work with a
reservation/lodging computer system, become familiar with basic Park information, the activities
available to guests throughout the Park, and the services provided at that location. Most
importantly, they must thrive on working with people, as they deal with guests everyday in a wide variety
of situations.
