About the Job...

The Bar Lead is a bartender and more! This position combines bartending responsibilities with supervisory and daily administrative duties. The Bar Lead is responsible for providing great guest service while overseeing all facets of the bar's operation.

Bartenders wear uniforms provided by the company. Employees must bring their own black leather, close-toed, non-skid shoes.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Food and Beverage Manager on duty.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient manner.
  • Provide ongoing beverage training for bar and restaurant staffs.
  • Motivate and educate personnel in beverage up-selling and wine salesmanship.
  • Schedule all beverage staff to ensure efficient use of personnel while maintaining high standards of service.
  • Schedule and coordination of all side work for beverage personnel.
  • Control costs including beverage and labor costs, and other expenses. Cost out all schedules and maintain
       payroll budget.
  • Follow, maintain, and control all systems and procedures established by the Company.
  • Supervise and participate in all bi-weekly inventories.
  • Supervise, and assist with, the ordering of supplies from warehouse. Assure the availability of all required items.
  • Supervise the storage and refrigeration of all items issued to the bar areas.
  • Supervise the maintenance and cleaning of bar and lounge areas.
  • See that all Requisition, Issue and Transfer Documents are processed daily.
  • Revise and post all opening and closing duties that apply to location for cocktail servers and bartenders.
  • Assure that established standards for beverage service are met.
  • Guarantee quality service by handling problems that may arise with guests.
  • Make a reasonable effort to prevent guests from becoming intoxicated.
  • Participate in the T.I.P.S. program toward the goal of certification.
  • Communicate, on a daily basis, with the Food & Beverage Manager concerning all aspects of the bar operation.
  • Follow Company and departmental environmental practices to minimize wasted energy and resources.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of brands and selections.
  • Knowledge of drink recipes and pricing.
  • Knowledge of Point of Sale register system.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and ordering procedures.
  • Ability to motivate and foster a positive work environment.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol.
  • Physical requirements include:
        Able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
        Able to work with and use various bar instruments and equipment
        Able to stand on feet for at least eight (8) hours each day
        Bending and kneeling
        Stretching and reaching
        Working with required chemicals
